Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data BlvckMarkt Ventures Africa collects through this website and when you deal with us as a company, why we use it, and the rights you have under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019.

Using Plugg or another of our products? Each product has its own privacy policy that covers your account and what you do in it. For Plugg, read the Plugg Privacy Policy. This page covers only blvckmarkt.com and your dealings with the company itself.

1. Who we are

BlvckMarkt Ventures Africa Limited (“BlvckMarkt”, “we”, “us”) is a technology company based in Westlands, Nairobi, Kenya. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

Questions about this policy or your data: [email protected].

2. What we collect

When you visit this website

This website has no sign-up, no forms, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it sets no cookies. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your own browser; that setting never leaves your device.

Like any website, the server that delivers it records basic technical information about each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider keeps these records to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use them to identify or profile visitors.

When you contact us

If you email or call us, we receive your name, your email address or phone number, the content of your message and anything else you choose to tell us.

When you work with us

If you are a partner, supplier, investor, adviser or job applicant, we keep the contact and professional details needed for that relationship, our correspondence, and, where relevant, contract, invoice and payment details.

3. Why we use it

  • To reply to you and deal with what you asked about.
  • To run a business relationship with you, including contracts, invoices and payments.
  • To keep this website working and secure.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and accounting records, or a lawful request from an authority.

We rely on the grounds the Data Protection Act allows: your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and protecting our business, and compliance with the law. We do not send marketing messages unless you have agreed to receive them, and we do not sell personal data.

4. Who we share it with

  • Service providers that act on our instructions, such as our website hosting provider and our email provider.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
  • Authorities, where the law requires it.

5. Data stored outside Kenya

Some of our service providers, including our website host, store or process data on servers outside Kenya. Where that happens we take the steps the Data Protection Act and its regulations require, such as working only with providers that give appropriate safeguards for your data.

6. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, and then delete it or make it anonymous. We keep it longer only where the law requires us to, for example business records that must be kept for tax purposes.

7. How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections to this website and access to company accounts limited to the people who need it.

8. Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is used;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • object to the processing of all or part of your data;
  • have false or misleading data corrected;
  • have false or misleading data deleted;
  • receive your data in a format you can take elsewhere, where that applies; and
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within the time the law allows.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

9. Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects you in an important way, we will say so on this page.
